Resin Printed Safety Reflective Decals
FLAG DECALS
RESIN PRINTING MAKES THE BEST REFLECTIVE DECAL!
StreetGlo uses a resin printing system to manufacture our printed reflective decals. Unless otherwise noted, every printed decal is made using a thermally applied resin pigment which bonds to the reflective base to provide strength and durability unmatched by solvent based printing methods which are standard with most decals. We then clear coat the decal for excellent UV protection and outstanding outdoor life, a must have for safety decals!
Resin printing is different from solvent printing in that resin is laid down in individual stripes whereas solvent is sprayed down in a continuous pattern. Solvent printing does not show the banding that can sometimes be seen in a resin print. In this regard, solvent printing is better than resin. However, in every other regard, the thickness of the pigment, the bonding strength of the pigment to the decal surface, and the resistance to fading and general outdoor wear, the resin print is far superior to solvent printing.
Most print shops have abandoned resin printing, mostly because of the cost for resin pigments. Resin typically cost 5 to 10 times more in pigment raw cost than solvent, and this has all but eliminated resin print shops. Streetglo will continue to provide resin based prints because we feel it is a better way to make a printed reflective decal. Our emphasis is on the brightest reflection and the longest life and with resin, we can make a brighter and longer lasting print.
BLEMISHED PRINTS
You might just want it!
Resin printing produces a fair number of slightly substandard prints and we often sell these prints as Blemished and provide something extra to the customer. If you see BLEMISHED WHEN AVAILABLE listed in as available, you might want to consider accepting a Blemished print. We guarantee you will like the blemished print or you can exchange it for a non blemished version. Blemished prints are hand picked from each batch. For a blemished print we select only those prints that we feel most people would not notice the defect. The defect can be very subtle. Most decals, especially helmet decals end up getting bumped, scuffed, scratched and sometimes even torn in every day use. Just look at any stripes or graphics on your bike now, we're sure you'll see the bruises of everyday use ---- All of which are likely more sever in appearance than our new blemished prints. The point is that you might find a blemished print, especially one that we hand pick, can be the best value for the money considering that you will receive some nice extras in your order.
To buy a blemished print, simply select BLEMISHED in your choice and we'll fill the order with a blemished product plus a bonus. However, blemished prints are not always available. In this case, we fill the order with a first quality print rather than delay the order.

Our Snake Rider Reflective Decals are hot printed with gold foil resin giving them a mirror like shiny gold appearance. We then triple UV clear coat each decal to protect the gold foil finish and preserve it's durability and shine in harsh outdoor applications.
Gold foil printing does reveal a slight edge where each gold foil strip overlaps the underlying previous strip, giving it a "chiseled" and layered appearance. This lapping can be seen clearer on the gold peace sign above. We're confident you will like the overall appearance of this product. The non gold areas are reflective and add to your conspicuity at night.
