Long ago, in the late 1800's and early 1900's, immigrants from countries in Europe brought with them such beliefs in things like Spells, Curses and an old Italian favorite, "The Evil Eyes" As a boy I remember my aunt scaring me silly when she could spot someone with a curse and such people would have an evil eye on them that my aunt could actually see, at least to her she could see it. I was too scared myself to look. Even in the late 70's some of my Italian Aunts believed in these evil existences and of course as any good Italian woman would know, there were some rituals that one could do to break a curse or hold death at bay, if even for a few moments.
It was believed that if you had faith in God, had a remedy ritual, and then a keepsake as a witness to your faith, you could overcome even the worst old country spells and perils. While not too many today keep with these old superstitions of the old world, it was an accepted part of life to these old-timers and my aunt did leave quite an impression in us kids!
So why not use this old-world magical power to protect us while we ride? With a good bit of old-world Italian spellbinding experience, we've created this uniquely ornate and handsomely attractive Maltese Cross Keepsake to protect and preserve during your long motorcycle ride. Peering out through this safety Maltese Cross is an horrid little Dark Guardian creature that the Grim Reaper himself shall fear, and rightfully so. The mysterious Kokopelli character is found in a number of Native American cultures In recent years, the emasculated version of Kokopelli has become a broader symbol within Southwestern United States.
Kokopelli is a symbol of fertility and happiness. He brings health, wellness and success in hunting and bountiful agriculture. Kokopelli is also a fertility symbol for conception and reproduction. Kokopelli's hump was rumored to carry life sustaining gifts such as seeds, plants and bountiful harvests. During Spring, Kokopelli would warm the earth and bring in the rain as he danced and played his flute. Kokopelli was not just about the serious side of life, he is also a mischievous little trickster that sure sounded like he would be the life of the party. The mischievous side of Kokopelli is so obviously seen in his playful pose with his hunched back, dancing feet and that apparently mystifying flute he plays.
Kokopelli images date back to around 750 AD and has been an idol of worship for cultures throughout history. With possible connections to ancient Aztec traders, Kokopelli has a long history of tribal involvement and the pursuit of the happy life and prosperity.
