Installing Reflective Tape
Reflective tape is different in structure from ordinary vinyl tape rolls. Not only is reflective tape more durable than ordinary vinyl tape rolls, it is made for heavy duty outdoor applications. To install reflective tape, especially on a car, truck or motorcycle, it will be much simpler to apply it wet with a soapy solution of 1 cup water and 6 - 8 drops of Palmolive or Joy dishwashing detergent. Spray the solution on the vehicle and on the sticky side of the reflective tape (don't worry, Streetglo reflective tape will bond correctly even with this soapy water solution). The wet solution allows for repositioning and will let you remove and retry your application with an extended worktime. We recommend that long applications such as the side of a car or truck be done in single short applications. Reflective tape is easily stretched so short applications will reduce stretching.
